How much water do AI data centers really use? US protests grow
Residents across Texas, New Mexico and Arizona are protesting the rapid expansion of AI data centers, citing water use, energy consumption and pollution. Data centers cool processors — which can reach 176°F — using evaporative water systems similar to how sweating cools the body.
