First Przewalski's horse foal born in Kazakhstan in around 200 years
On August 22, the first Przewalski's horse foal in approximately 200 years was born at the Alibi reintroduction centre in central Kazakhstan. Wildlife experts describe the birth as one of the most significant milestones in efforts to restore the population of this critically rare wild horse in Central Asia. The foal is the result of long-running species conservation programmes.
