Waymo warns cameras alone aren't enough in swipe at Tesla's approach

Waymo VP of Onboard Software Srikanth Thirumalai wrote in a blog post titled "10 AI Lessons from Driving 200+ Million Miles" that cameras alone are not sufficient for safe autonomous driving. The post is a thinly veiled critique of Tesla's camera-only approach to self-driving, published as Tesla prepares to officially launch its steering-wheel- and pedal-free Cybercab. Waymo did not name Tesla or Elon Musk directly.
