SEC proposes modernized crypto custody rules for investment advisers

The SEC has sent a proposal to the White House seeking to clarify the custody framework for crypto assets held by investment advisers and firms. The regulator says it wants to "improve and modernize" custody regulations for the crypto space. The move comes after a vote on the Clarity Act was delayed, though both the SEC and CFTC say they will continue shaping crypto policy independently.
