Higher corporate tax hits Polish banks — net profit drops to PLN 21.4bn
The Polish Bank Association reported that the net profit of the banking sector fell to PLN 21.4 billion in the first half of the current year compared to the same period last year. The decline is attributed to a higher corporate income tax (CIT) rate applied to banks. The association identified the tax change as the direct cause of the drop.
