AI found a cheaper way to 3D-print NASA's rocket alloy in just 40 experiments

Researchers used AI to sift through more than 100 million possible settings for 3D-printing GRCop-42, a high-performance NASA rocket alloy. After just 40 experiments, the system identified six successful configurations, including one that works at a record-low 500 watts. The breakthrough could make the alloy, previously expensive and difficult to produce, manufacturable with widely available equipment.
