Meta to pay up to $17.1 billion in settlement over children's social media addiction
Meta has settled with 47 US states, the District of Columbia and US territories over claims that its platforms endangered children by fuelling addiction. The company will pay up to $17.1 billion and has agreed to make major changes to its products. It is one of the largest settlements ever reached in a children's online safety case.
