Polish Health Ministry introduces price negotiation for free medicines for seniors and children
Poland's Ministry of Health has published a regulation allowing it to negotiate prices of free medicines for seniors, children and pregnant women directly with pharmaceutical companies. The ministry hopes to cut costs tenfold in some cases — medicines currently priced at 400 PLN could be obtained for as little as 40 PLN. The move is expected to generate savings for both the state budget and patients.
