Poland and allies push EU to unlock €200bn in frozen Russian assets for Ukraine
Poland, Spain, the Netherlands and Sweden have called on the European Commission to revisit using frozen Russian state assets — worth around €200 billion — to fund Ukraine. Belgium has been blocking the plan, reportedly under pressure from the Kremlin. The group submitted a formal request to Brussels to overcome the veto.
