US Navy retires USS Georgia, marking the end of Ohio-class Tomahawk carriers

The US Navy has begun the deactivation process for the submarine USS Georgia, an Ohio-class guided missile submarine and carrier of Tomahawk cruise missiles. This marks the gradual end of the Ohio-class SSGN fleet. The capability gap is expected to be filled by next-generation Virginia Block V and VI submarines, though full readiness will take time.
