Police robots patrol Hangzhou streets, detecting tens of thousands of violations

In the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou, nearly two-metre-tall robots are directing traffic at intersections as part of a pilot programme aimed at taking over repetitive traffic-police duties. The machines have already detected tens of thousands of violations. The project is part of China's broader investment in automating public-order services.
