AfD hits 42% in Saxony-Anhalt poll ahead of state elections

With less than two weeks until state elections in Saxony-Anhalt, a poll by Infratest dimap gives the right-wing populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) 42 per cent support in the eastern German state. The CDU is losing ground significantly to AfD. The result would represent a historically high score for the party in the region.
