French flight attendant wins landmark case: breast cancer ruled an occupational disease
Former Air France flight attendant Sophie Lainault has won a landmark ruling in which a French court recognised her breast cancer as an occupational disease — a first in the country's aviation industry. The court cited her frequent night shifts and exposure to passive smoking during more than 12,600 hours of flight time. Her lawyer and the CFDT union said the ruling could pave the way for similar claims by other cabin crew members.
