NASA's Roman Space Telescope was built using parts salvaged from spy satellites

At the heart of NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope lies technology salvaged from old spy satellites, including the primary mirror and optical assembly. The telescope is set to launch on Sunday, 30 August, aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. It will study dark energy, distant worlds and expand our understanding of the universe.
