Ring's new encryption deletes keys after 24 hours, making police access harder

Ring is rolling out a new default encryption system that automatically deletes the company's copy of encryption keys after 24 hours. The change means Ring will be unable to hand over video footage to law enforcement even when requested. The update is designed to boost user privacy but limits the data Ring can legally be compelled to provide to police.
