Apple Maps launches ads — paid listings now appear in search results

Apple Maps has begun showing ads, with businesses now able to pay for top spots in search results. Sponsored listings appear as the first entry in the "suggested places" section and at the top of regular search results. Apple announced the ad programme in March, and the placements are now live for iPhone users.
