Xbox lets players claim a digital licence from a disc while keeping the disc's resale value

Microsoft has officially unveiled an Xbox feature that lets players claim a digital licence for a game directly from its physical disc version. Crucially, the disc itself retains its value and can still be resold after the digital licence is claimed. The announcement was reported on 26 August 2026.
