Seattle startup aims to mine helium-3 from the Moon for nuclear fusion
A Seattle-based company is planning to extract helium-3 from the lunar surface for use in nuclear fusion reactors. The isotope, produced by the Sun and deposited in the Moon's regolith by solar wind over billions of years, is extremely rare on Earth. The venture aims to harvest in a matter of hours what the Sun's wind has been depositing over thousands of years.
