NOAA warns of geomagnetic storm on Aug 27–28, with northern lights possible over Europe

The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has issued a warning for a geomagnetic storm expected on 27 and 28 August. A fast solar wind stream and a coronal mass ejection plasma cloud are set to reach Earth, raising the likelihood of aurora borealis visible across Europe and parts of the United States.
