From September 2026, Poland's system will automatically block invalid subsidised prescriptions
From 13 September 2026, new rules for subsidised prescriptions will take effect in Poland. An IT system will automatically block prescriptions that do not meet requirements on dosage and therapy duration. The reform aims to eliminate so-called "death prescriptions" — documents specifying absurdly high drug doses — and patients with blocked prescriptions will be unable to collect their medication at a pharmacy.
