Iran defies US economic pressure, seeks to bar warships from Strait of Hormuz
Iranian President Pezeshkian dismissed the effectiveness of the US economic chokehold, insisting Washington will achieve nothing with it. Iran's deputy foreign minister said a deal being negotiated with Oman would bar all military vessels from the Strait of Hormuz — a demand Washington firmly opposes. The US had previously threatened to bomb Oman if it interfered with American operations in the region.
