Uber and Wayve robotaxi London launch pushed back to beyond this year
Plans by Uber and London-based Wayve to launch robotaxis in the capital are unlikely to materialise this year, despite both companies receiving the first minicab licences allowing self-driving rides with paying passengers. A human safety driver is still required under current licences. Regulatory and technical hurdles have pushed back the ambitious timeline set out by the UK government.
