Sanctioned ICC president asked Japan to help ease tensions with the US

International Criminal Court president Tomoko Akane has revealed she asked Japan to help de-escalate tensions with the United States after Washington imposed sanctions on her. Akane stated there is no reason for her to face such measures. The ICC has come under US pressure following its issuance of arrest warrants for figures backed by Washington.
