HRT linked to 10% lower dementia risk in study of 180,000 women

The largest study of its kind tracked more than 180,000 postmenopausal women in the UK and found that those who had used hormone replacement therapy were 10% less likely to develop any type of dementia. The risk of Alzheimer's disease specifically was 16% lower among HRT users compared with non-users. Scientists say the findings suggest a potentially protective role for hormones.
