1,800 people pulled a 360-tonne castle tower to safety in Japan
Nearly 1,800 volunteers took part in a remarkable operation to relocate the historic tower of Hirosaki Castle in Aomori Prefecture, northern Japan. Pulling on 30-metre ropes, they moved the 360-tonne structure along rails. The relocation was necessary to allow repairs to a wall damaged by an earthquake.
