Syria's Kurds give up autonomy dream and fully integrate into the state
Kurdish leader Mazloum Abdi announced Thursday that the integration of the Kurdish administration into Syria's state institutions is now complete, ending the Kurds' long-held aspirations for autonomy. The move follows a January agreement calling for the full incorporation of Kurdish civil and military bodies into the Syrian state. Washington described the development as "historic".
