Shingles vaccine Shingrix cuts heart attack and stroke risk by 12%

A study based on records of 70,000 people in the US found that recipients of the two-dose Shingrix vaccine had a 12% lower risk of a cardiovascular diagnosis in the following three and a half years. Scientists say this benefit is comparable to taking daily blood pressure-lowering medication. If confirmed, the findings could help prevent thousands of deaths each year.
