Hungary eyes euro by 2030, but finance minister admits: we meet none of the criteria
Hungarian Finance Minister Andras Karman announced that Hungary plans to meet eurozone entry criteria by 2030, despite a difficult budget situation inherited from Viktor Orbán's government and worsened by drought and an energy crisis. Prime Minister Peter Magyar acknowledged that the country currently meets none of the required criteria. Economists at Citigroup have questioned the credibility of the plan.
