Seven EU states call on Brussels to fund eastern border tourism
The tourism and finance ministers of Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Slovakia have jointly appealed to Brussels for support for tourism sectors in regions bordering Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. They want the aid included in the EU's proposed €2 trillion multiannual financial framework. Eastern EU regions have suffered tourism losses due to their proximity to conflict and tension zones.
