Shingrix shingles vaccine linked to lower heart disease risk, new study finds
A new study by the team that previously found a link between the Shingrix vaccine and lower dementia rates has now found an association with reduced risk of heart attacks, strokes and heart failure compared with unvaccinated individuals. Shingrix is the newer recombinant vaccine against shingles, a painful condition caused by reactivation of the chickenpox virus in older people. The research was conducted as a natural experiment.
