Indonesia wildfires driven by El Niño put millions at health risk from toxic haze
Indonesia's health ministry warns that toxic haze from El Niño-fuelled wildfires threatens the health of millions of people. From January to July, fires burned more than 200,000 hectares — an area three times the size of the capital Jakarta, the government said. Authorities are urging precautions and monitoring air quality across affected regions.
