Putin signs drone-protection decree for Russian businesses — experts call it a nationalisation tool
On 24 August, Vladimir Putin signed a decree officially aimed at protecting Russian businesses from Ukrainian drone attacks, after the Kremlin deemed that entrepreneurs were not doing enough to protect themselves. Experts broadly agree the measure is in reality another tool for the state to seize control over private property in Russia, with business owners facing what is described as a "threat of losing everything".
