Pope's envoy meets Lavrov in Moscow, calls for immediate end to the war

Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, envoy of Pope Leo XIV, met Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow in the first official Vatican diplomatic visit to Russia since the full-scale war in Ukraine began. After more than an hour of talks, Gallagher made a public appeal, calling an end to hostilities "urgent and necessary".
