Poland's birth rate decline halts — demographer points to 500+ benefit rise
According to a GUS bulletin published on 25 August, 20,000 babies were born in Poland in June, marking a halt in the 12-month downward trend in births. Demographer Mateusz Łakomy suggests the positive shift may partly result from the 500+ benefit increase introduced in 2024. He cautions, however, that it is too early to draw firm conclusions.
