AfD uses East German Simson mopeds in campaign — Jewish founding family objects

The AfD party is using the iconic East German Simson mopeds as a campaign symbol ahead of September's Saxony-Anhalt elections, tapping into nostalgia for the GDR era. The Simson family — descendants of the factory's Jewish founders, now living in the US — has objected to this use. The factory was seized from the Jewish family during the Nazi era and later nationalised in East Germany.
