Armenia detains ex-President Kocharyan on corruption charges in signal to Kremlin
Former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan, who leads the Moscow-friendly opposition and has close ties with Vladimir Putin, was detained along with his son and four others during raids on family businesses. Analysts say the arrests send "a signal to the Kremlin" about Prime Minister Pashinyan's intent to confront Russian-aligned political forces in Armenia.
