European Commission urges Ukraine to press on with reforms after parliament stalls them

The European Commission on Tuesday urged Ukraine to continue reforms after a committee of the Ukrainian parliament blocked some of them. EC spokesperson Markus Lammert stressed that the rule of law and the fight against corruption are key criteria for EU membership. The reforms are a prerequisite for Ukraine's progress on its path to accession.
