US removes Syria from state sponsors of terrorism list

The United States has removed Syria from its state sponsors of terrorism list, lifting decades-old sanctions and opening the door to Syria's full reintegration into the global financial system. Syrian leader Ahmad al-Sharaa said the country was "shaking off" its past. The move is intended to support post-war reconstruction in Syria.
