West Nile fever spreading in Europe — 110 cases in Greece, 52 in Spain
The mosquito-borne West Nile fever virus is rapidly increasing its toll across southern Europe. Andalusia in Spain has confirmed 52 cases, while Greece has recorded 110 infections since the start of the season. Some patients develop a severe neuroinvasive form of the disease, which can be fatal.
