Polish doctor worked 7,530 hours in a year and earned over PLN 2 million at one hospital

A doctor at the County Hospital in Bielsk Podlaski worked 7,530 hours in a single year — out of a total 8,760 hours in the year — holding five positions at the same hospital and earning over PLN 2 million gross in 2025. Outgoing hospital director Piotr Selwesiuk told TVN24+ the situation has persisted for several years and he sees no problem with it. The case raises serious concerns about patient safety and oversight of doctors' working hours.
