Ritual structure 6,500 years old — 1,000 years older than Stonehenge — found in Czech Republic

Archaeologists unearthed a roughly 6,500-year-old circular ritual enclosure at Chleby in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic — about 1,000 years older than Stonehenge. The structure measures 230 metres in diameter and 2.5 metres deep, with 12 entrances around its ditch. Animal bones found in the ditch suggest the entryways were decorated with bull skulls and horns, reflecting the bull cult common among early farming communities.
