Poland eyes second SAFE funding round as Italy and Hungary stall

The European Commission will launch a second call for applications under the SAFE programme this year to redistribute billions of euros left unused by some member states, EC spokesperson Thomas Regnier announced. Deputy Defence Minister Paweł Zalewski confirmed to PAP that Poland intends to participate in the second round. Italy and Hungary are among the countries that have so far delayed drawing on the available funds.
