Android car head units hijacked by malware and pulled into hidden proxy botnet

Kaspersky researchers discovered a new Android malware targeting car head units made by Chinese manufacturer DoFun, exploiting the TWCore analytics and update app. Attackers linked to the MoYu Group used the update mechanism to install loaders and a reverse proxy, building a botnet of internet-connected vehicles. DoFun patched the vulnerabilities after Kaspersky disclosed them.
