Newton's law of gravity passes its biggest test yet across galaxy clusters

A massive test of gravity spanning galaxy clusters hundreds of millions of light-years apart has confirmed that gravity behaves almost exactly as Newton and Einstein predicted. The results weaken modified-gravity theories and strengthen the case that dark matter is responsible for the universe's mysterious missing mass. It is the largest empirical test of the law of gravity at a cosmological scale to date.
