Hungary cuts interest rates for fourth time this year as forint stays strong
Hungary's central bank cut its main interest rate for the fourth time this year, bringing it to its lowest level since April 2022. The decision fits the bank's signalled summer easing cycle and met market expectations, supported by a strong forint and low July inflation. Hungary is notably diverging from its regional peers, whose central banks have remained more cautious.
