Poland's NFZ seeks 6–7 bn zloty breathing room by deferring payments — economists warn of bigger gap next year
Poland's National Health Fund (NFZ) plans to defer payments for some excess medical services to gain a financial reprieve of 6–7 billion zloty this year. Economists warn, however, that the deferred funds will only enlarge next year's budget gap without solving the structural problem. Questions also remain over whether the prime minister's promised "additional billions for healthcare" will genuinely improve conditions for patients.
