Polish local governments post 45.6 bn złoty surplus instead of planned deficit

Poland's local government budgets recorded a collective surplus of 45.623 billion złoty after the second quarter, the Finance Ministry announced. The result stands in sharp contrast to the planned full-year deficit of nearly 51 billion złoty. The figures indicate local authorities are sitting on a substantial financial cushion.
