€3 customs duty on non-EU parcels halves their volume in Poland

The number of low-value parcels arriving in Poland from outside the EU has dropped by half since the introduction of a €3 customs duty, according to the Ministry of Finance. The levy, aimed primarily at cheap packages from China, has proven surprisingly effective despite its small size. The Ministry cited the result as evidence that the new regulation is successfully protecting the European market.
