IKEA lays off 250 workers in Wielibark, the region's biggest employer
IKEA carried out mass layoffs this spring at its Wielibark plant in the Warmia-Masuria region, cutting around 240–250 of its 1,500 workers. The Swedish furniture giant is the area's largest employer, making the redundancies a serious blow to the local job market. Laid-off workers are now searching for new jobs, with very few vacancies available nearby.
