UK authorises local assembly of Storm Shadow cruise missiles in Ukraine

The UK has authorised defence contractor MBDA to share classified information about British components of the Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missile with Ukraine, enabling local assembly of the weapon. Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced the move during his first overseas trip since taking office, travelling to Kyiv. Storm Shadow had previously been Ukraine's weapon of choice for long-range standoff strikes, but stockpiles had been dwindling.
